Reviews and Ratings

Cherie Cole rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The grapes from the Errazuriz Estate Series Cabernet Sauvignon are collected from their vineyards in the Acongacua and Maipo Valleys. Each area offers fruit with distinctive character to its respective terroir delivering a wine that is balanced and elegant.

The Maipo Valley with its moderate climate, produces grapes that offer lively acidity.

The Aconcagua Valley has a Mediterranean climate with diurnal temperatures that differ up to 20 degrees Celsius between day and night. The warm days offer time for the grapes to ripen, preserving their fruit, while the cool nights allow the grapes to retain their acidity.

The 2014 harvest occurred in the middle of April. Vinified with 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel from 12 to 25 days, with 1/3 of the blend aging in French oak for 8 months.

A lovely dark ruby, the aromas expressed in this wine are black plum, dark cherry, blackberry, and sweet spice. Pronounced tannins and a long finish on dark fruit, this wine would pair very well with grilled beef, dark chocolate or hard, aged cheddar.

Tasted at the Errazuriz Estate in Chile's Aconcagua Valley with winemaker Wladimir Medel Pino on January 12, 2016.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
