A spectacularly rich and full-bodied Chilean Cabernet that also manages to be wonderfully balanced and long on the finish. Nicely balanced acidity for meat dishes with tangy or tomato sauces. Great structure and elegance. Very fresh on the finish. Highly recommended.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: herbed steaks, beef fajitas.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Deliciously fragrant cassis, strawberry jam and ripe blueberries on the nose, with eucalyptus and mint, repeated on a luscious full-bodied palate showing concentrated fruit flavours and soft tannins. Made from grapes grown on old vines in gravel soils.
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Always enjoy Errazuriz wines! Lots of complexity - blackberry, cedar and forest floor aromas with flavours of dark fruit, black pepper and some herbaceousness. Well balanced and lovely long finish. Great value wine.
Sharon Lécuyer rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

On the nose, strong earthiness. On the palette, ripe cherries, balanced tannins and good acidity, long luscious finish. Pairs well with aged cheese or hearty beef dishes.

(Tasted January 17, 2017)
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Smoky aromas of dried and jammy red fruit, with a touch of cedar and sweet cherry. Some grippy tannins in the mouth lead to jammy berry tastes, again mainly cherry and cassis. Medium-high acidity and a juicy, tannic berry finish. A great steak wine.
Nick Onischuk - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The Errazuriz Aconcagua Alto Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 is a medium bodied wine that is very aromatic. Cherry, reed berry fruit, raspberry, spice and slight vanilla. Tasted January 31, 2016 (90/100)
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby colour in the glass with initial aromas of fresh cut green pepper ( in a good way?)Depends on your preferences. Warming alcohol and tannins that take a hold of the palate. There is a good amount of fruit though with cassis leading the parade, ripe black cherry, blackcurrant leaf, leather, eucalyptus, oak and baking spices. Fresh cool climate acidity keeps the checks and balances. Needs red meat.
Tasted: February 2017
David Skinner rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Dark ruby. Definitive cassis with licorice, and spices create a very intense set of fragrances. Medium full body with high acid and medium tannins. The flavours are more subtle than the nose would promise but there is a predominant red fruit character that is pleasant. A medium finish.

Try this with pulled pork BBQ.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromas of red and black fruit. The palate offers red current, blackberry, licorice and some black olive. Ends with a lingering finish with medium structured tannins.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Cool climate Cabernet Sauvignon, 2014 vintage with red fruit, and herbal notes of green pepper. WOuld pair well with a Cantonese Beef with black pepper sauce or seared Tex Mex beef fajitas. Tasted Jan 2017. Rated 88/100. BespokeTastings.ca
Cora Beaulieu rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Vivid ruby color. Aromas of red/black fruits, blackberry, bell pepper, cassis, spicy notes of black pepper, licorice, chocolate, mocha, vanilla, touch of cedar, tobacco and menthol. Full-bodied, refined tannins, with intense flavors of black berry, black currant, anise, licorice, green olive, earthy, peppery and leather. Justifiably oaky. Very good length, beautifully balanced and finishes spicy with lingering notes of cocoa.
Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 81/100 with the following review:

A good red wine to go with winter dishes…
Presentation: Modern with a hand-written personal touch.
Appearance: Medium-dark ruby
Nose: Green vegetables, leather, earth, coffee
Taste: Sour cherries, leather.
Finish: Tannic, sour cherries, earth, leather.
Overall impression: A good red for the winter; the tannins are strong, though.
Value: 2.5 out of 5
