A juicy Barbaresco produced with the Nebbiolo grape. Think of Barbaresco as the wine you enjoy the first decade while your Barolo is cellaring to start enjoying in the second decade of its life. Enrico Serafino was founded in 1878 and over 140 years later they're still producing this fine example. Bright Cherry, spice cake, rose, anise and nutty, smoky aromas and flavours on the nose and palate finishing with fresh acidity and firm tannins. Good now, better in another year. Pair with slow-braised beef short ribs.

Barbaresco food pairings: roast boar, tourtière, rich pork roast.

Reviews and Ratings

From the Piedmont wine region, Enrico Serafino 2016 Barbaresco is a vibrant, medium-plus-bodied Barbaresco with smoky black cherry aromas on the nose, earthy, licorice, red plum, dried sweet tobacco, dried violets on the palate. Finishes smoky with vanilla spice and great acidity for food. Tannins are firm and grippy and the wine would benefit from some hang time in cellar. Enjoy in 2021. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
