Black as pitch, with lots of toasty oak, smoke and tarry notes. Full-throttle Australia Shiraz in all its glory. I'm a big fan of Elderton wines, and this is one fine example of why. A lovely vein of blackberry liqueur supports this concentrated wonder. Perfect for film noir and blackened ribs.

Shiraz food pairings: BBQ meats, hearty meat meals, aged cheddar, grilled lamb.

Reviews and Ratings

Elderton 2013 is a deep, dark, full-bodied Shiraz from the Barossa Valley. The grapes for this wine were sourced from the Ashmead Family vineyards and the 2013 vintage is 100% estate-grown Shiraz made from 15 year old to over 100 year old vines -- a marriage of old and new to create a very rich, full palate Shiraz. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
