Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This is a smooth, medium-bodied fruit driven Cabernet Sauvignon. Good evidence of toasty oak aging as this wine spent 12 months in old American and French oak puncheons. Decent fruit driven finish. Pair with your favourite grilled or roasted red meats.
Tasted: January 2016
Since 2001, the Ashmead family of Elderton wines has been making small batches of red wines from Eden Valley vineyards, and has since fallen in love with Barossa Valley terroir, which lends structure to the Cabernet Sauvignon. There are grapes grown in both the lowlands of Barossa Valley and the highlands of Eden Valley, and specifically for this wine, the Craneford vineyard in Eden Valley, planted at 400 metres above sea level. - Community Wine Reviews
