Dark chocolate and toasty oak on the nose of this Californian red wine are followed by brooding black fruit aromas and seductive dark spices, smoke and dried herbs. Good balance, depth and concentration with a satisfying finish. Try it with grilled pork chops tonight. Try this with prime rib.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: gourmet burgers, meaty pasta dishes, hard cheese, steaks, chicken wings, pork.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Edge 2012 is a great value priced Napa Cabernet Sauvignon at $30. The nose shows blueberry compote, fig, black berry, bell pepper, and leather. Full bodied, the palate is rich with nice texture from the tannins and rich berry flavours. Very well balanced, this accesible premium Napa Cabernet offers great value! Enjoy now or cellar and enjoy over the next decade. Tasted November 2015. 91+ points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Wineboy rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

I've liked this wine in past vintages, and I like it now. Rich, ripe and smooth as California Cabernet can be. This one is crafted with a "fruit over oak" balance. I can't think of a flaw to report.
Jennifer CAPS Certified Somm rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Lots of hedonistic pleasure to be had with this wine. Exudes juicy black cherry, black currant, cigar box, mocha and toasty oak aromas and flavors. It's plush velvety texture make it very easy to enjoy.
Grapes for this Californian Cabernet come from the North Coast AVA appellation that crosses six counties north of San Francisco, including Napa, Sonoma, Solano, Lake, Marin and Mendocino. Lots of black fruit, pepper and smoke. - Community Wine Reviews
