Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Smooth, toasted, raisin, black stewed fruits, tobacco leaf, and a smashing price! All of this combines for one sweet after dinner sipper. It goes down warm and lingers on the back of the tongue. There's some youthful grainy tannins but this is meant to be enjoyed today. Perfect with a piece of fruitcake or a cheese/fruit/nut platter.

Terrific value for this Portuguese fortified dessert wine from the Douro Valley. Aromas of blackcurrant jam and blackberry pie wrapped in smoke. Late bottled vintage ports are produced every year, as opposed to vintage ports that are only made in exceptional declared years. LBV wines spend longer in barrel (4-6 years) than vintage ports, and mature and drink earlier than vintage ports. Pair with holiday fruitcake, chocolate cheesecake or chocolate chip cookies. - Community Wine Reviews
