A smooth, supple almost full-bodied Portuguese red wine with black fruit aromas. Pair with pork tenderloin. The winemaker, Jorge Moreira buys grapes for this robust Portuguese red wine from high-altitude vineyards. He blends Rabigato, Códega and other grapes for the 2014 vintage. This is considered the winery's second wine, but it's no slough compared to the flagship bottle. This Quinta de la Rosa has terrific layers of flavour and just the right amount of oak.

Food pairings: pork tenderloin, Porchetta, fig and apricot stuffed pork chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This Portuguese beauty pours with pleasant floral, cherry, and raspberry notes. This wine shows a much-appreciated mouthwatering acidity, fruit concentration, length and a robust mouthfeel. The tannins are still young and chewy so do decant 1-2 hours prior to serving. As well, this bargain buy has tremendous aging potential - 5-7 years. Enjoy with prime rib roast. @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
