Reviews and Ratings

Julia Kelada rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The look of this wine is like thin black cherry juice, I was worried it would be a bit light but after my first sniff of a fruity presence i became rather excited with anticipation that this was not one of my normal wine choices.
Now before i continue, I went for my regular Thursday night wine tasting and my sommelier said, who if you remember comes from France, so a little biased maybe! Any way, back to the story…..I expressed that I wanted a challenge, though something i would like, he knows my taste well! I wanted something that I would never consider. Now bless him, he almost skipped towards me with his choice, his eyes were definitely on an overdrive of excitement!
" Ooooo…."he chipped " and $16.55!" well i nearly fell off my stilletoes! So here is what i found.
After that initial sniff, my first taste revealed earthy brambles. It evoked wild blackberries growing in the uncultured countryside. The taste was like the smell of the earth after a light rain fall. This wine has Carignan, black Grenache and Syrah grapes….there is a heavy presence of black cherries and a spicey finish with well rounded tannins.
This wine has a fresh acidity and would go extremely well with duck or lamb and a sauce with cranberries or pomegranate .
Bottoms up!
