A juicy, ultra-dry, mouth-watering Greek red with superb balance and complexity. More bones and structure than fruit here: tanned leather, dried herbs and lots of acidity for food. Contemplative wine for sipping or pair with juicy meats like lamb.

Xinomavro food pairings: lamb, pizza, planked salmon, paté.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Rustic wine with pepper and raisin elements balanced on the nose and palate. Very structured wine with solid tannins and acidity. This is a wine that could age long term (8 years) or serve with rich food dishes with an element of fat or oil - hey !! Greek Food !!
The 2010 vintage of the robust Greek red wine Naoussa from the Estate Xinomavro bears only Domaine Karydas on the label. This wine was aged for 2 years in French oak barrels, of which 40% new and 60% second use. The Xinomavro grapes grow on 35 year old vines. Lots of acidity and minerality. Since 1980, the Karydas family has cultivated their Naoussa vineyard located on the slopes of Gastra at an altitude of 350 metres above sea level in limestone soils. Pair with braised meats. - Community Wine Reviews
