Produced by the Famille Lançon, Domaine De La Solitude 2021 Châteauneuf-Du-Pape is a stunning youthful CNDP with oodles of ripe blackberry fruit, ripe raspberry, dark cherry, clove, tobacco leaf and vanilla flavours finishing long on a mineral note. Tannins are rounded and velvety. Grapes for this vintage were sourced from field blend vineyards with galet cobblestone and sandy soils. Produced from organically grown grapes, the 2021 vintage is a blend of mostly Grenache, with Syrah, Mourvèdre, Counoise and Vaccarese grapes in support. Drink or hold to the end of the decade.

Châteauneuf-Du-Pape food pairings: coq au vin, veal stew with rosemary and potatoes, roast pork shoulder.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
