A solid wine, though over-priced. Dark red fruit and spice. Not as robust as I expect for a Chateauneuf-du-Pape, though it still is full-bodied. Pair with grilled meats. OTHER: Domaine Cristia is named after the clay-and-sand soil found on the estate. 100% Grenache, this wine is sourced from vines more than 50 years old. It's fat, gorgeous and elegant with impressive weight, fresh red berry, vanilla, earth and leather notes, with integrated, velvety tannins. A great value for Châteauneuf-du-Pape, it will be lovely with veal or lamb. (VINTAGES panel, Nov. 2016).

Châteauneuf-Du-Pape food pairings: hearty meat meals, pasta, aged cheeses, pulled pork.

From the Châteauneuf-Du-Pape region in Rhône, Domaine Cristia Cuvée Tradition (2015) is produced from 100% Grenache wine grapes sourced from 50 year old vines. Only organic fertilizer is used in the vineyard (sheep manure) and 90% of the terroir is composed of sandy/clay soils. The work in the vineyards is as natural as possible and adhering to the criteria of organic agriculture; the domaine received official certification in 2008. - Community Wine Reviews
