Reviews and Ratings

Carola Price rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Berry and spice on the nose. The body is huge and slightly overly alcoholic. Heavy bodied this wine would benefit from a chill when drinking. The flavours of cherry, cassis, tobacco and some chocolate overtones. Pairing with mushrooms and grilled or roasted lamb and garlic.
Drink now to 6 years.
Nicole Lewis rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Deep garnet in hue this Greek red blend offers up a complex nose of ripe cherry, black olives and campfire smoke. This is a crisp medium to full-bodied red with grippy tannins and ripe cherry and a soupçon of cassis on the palate. A great choice for red meat dishes.

Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Dark plum, black cherry, with a light touch of India ink, and earthiness. Deep plum coloured. Rich plum flavours, grippy tannins, medium acidity, and a medium grippy plum finish.
Savory black olives and mint on the nose of this medium-bodied Greek red wine blend. Firm tannins. Consulting Michel Rolland has worked with more than 100 wineries in 13 countries. Rolland has a hand in this Greek red wine. Amethystos is a blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with 20% Merlot and 10% of the native Agiorgitiko also known as Saint George grapes. Lots of ripe fruit in this wine, ripe tannins, firm palate, structure and good acidity. - Community Wine Reviews
