Reviews and Ratings

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Lots of dark cherry fruit on the nose and palate on this one. It is silky, smooth with cassis and a suggestion of earthiness. It is rich and powerful but risks being overpowered by the 15.5% declared alcohol. Would be great with beef bourguignon. Tasted June 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Expressive strawberry and jam followed by garrigue and minerality, and finally some cherry and leather. At 15.5% ABV, this is a very full-bodied wine, but thankfully there is good acidity and fair tannins to balance alcohol. Palate shows a little more mineral and less fruit than the nose, but all of the pleasant notes are still present, especially some savoury dried herbs and mild spice. Match with wild boar or lamb for a perfect pairing.
Domaine Chante-Perdrix 2016 is a juicy, smoky Châteauneuf-Du-Pape from the Rhône wine region. Ripe dark cherry, red berry, smoky vanilla and bright citrus flavours balance out this silky, sensuous red, a full-bodied blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre and 5% Muscardin. Enjoy now and for the next 10 years. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
