A gorgeous, silky pinot noir with layers of fleshy black cherries and a satin-rich texture. The grapes for this wine come from the Brookland Vineyard in Australia's Yarra Valley and provide great balance of fruit ripeness and some zingy acidity. Finishes with great vibrancy and refreshment. This balanced red wine shows attractive intensity in the glass. Try this vibrant red wine with cheese pizza. Excellent value. Highly recommended.

Pinot Noir food pairings: chicken, pasta, planked salmon, braised lamb, roast beef, rosemary pork tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Don reviewed this wine as follows:

Kelly liked it. Me not so much
This Australian red wine is made from Pinot Noir grapes and has great vibrancy and verve. Gulf Station is the original pastoral holding of the Bell family who settled in the Yarra Valley in 1864. The site of today's De Bortoli vineyard was known as "the summer paddock". It had a large dam and held green pasture for the summer months. The Pinot grapes for this wine grow on mature vines in the Dixon Creek, Yarra Glen Tarrawarra and Woori Yallock vineyards. Each vineyard is picked and vinified separately. The wines are matured in new and used oak barrels for 10 months. Lots of velvet textural elements here. - Community Wine Reviews
