Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

I enjoyed this Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley. Earthy and a little funky on the nose. Aromas of field cherry, cedar, floral notes, and cinnamon. Medium bodied and fresh on the palate with smooth tannins, tart plum and blackberry flavours and gentle cedar notes plus baking spice seeping through. Perfect for roasted duck in a berry coulis.

Tasted at the California Wine Fair in Ottawa April 2019.
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

In 1973 David Bynum was the first winery to produce single vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. Forty-six years later under the ownership of the Klein family the winery continues to produce top quality Pinot. This 2017 vintage has aromas of cherry and vanilla and a touch of earthiness. Flavours of cherry, rhubarb and beet with a smooth mouthfeel. Medium body and tannins with just the right touch of acidity. Pair with grilled pork tenderloin basted with a cherry jelly to marry the flavours! Tasted April 26/2019 California Wine Fair
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Ruby red hue with notes of plum, blackberry, cherry, earth and clove. Fairly robust for a Pinot Noir. Would stand up well with braised ribs or a beef stew. Tasted: April 2019 California Wine Fair.
