Reviews and Ratings

Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This is a great value Russian River Chardonnay from the River West Vineyard of Davis Bynum. The winery has been around for some 45 years - since 1973 - and the winerie's philosphy is to use their years of experience and knowledge of the terroir to make outstanding wines.

They used native yeasts and malolactic fermentation in french oak barrels (40% new). Sur Lie aging and regular battonage has added to the complexity.

On the nose a touch of sulphur - something I find common in some Prince Edward County wines here in Ontario. Ripe apple and citrus notes with a creamy mouthfeel and more apple, brioche and nuttiness on the palate. Well balanced with a long finish.

Mark October 2018 in your calendar for a Vintages release at the LCBO. Tasted California Wine Fair - April 19/18
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Gorgeous, big, bold, full-bodied, oaked. Balanced, great acidity and food friendly. Notes of crisp green apple, with a hint of vanilla bean and lime zest. Pairs well with roast chicken and drinking well on its own. Tasted 2015 vintage in October 2018. 90 points

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
