CVNE stands for: Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España. This is an historic wine company with some very bold and delicious wines from Rioja. This one no different. Medium-plus-bodied with ripe dark cherry, mulberry, sweet tobacco, earthy mushroom, anise and cedar brush spicy flavours on a velvety palate. Decant two hours prior to pouring with BBQ pork ribs.

Food pairings: Greek marinated lamb ribs on the grill, souvlaki, spanakopita pie.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

From the amazing Rioja region of Spain, the Cune Crianza 2015, blended from 85% Tempranillo, 15% Garnacha Tinta and Mazuelo, reveals aromas of sour cherry, fig, mustard seed, pastrami, wood burner and cedar. Medium body with a charming smoky finish, the Cune delivers a fair balance and fresh fruity flavors. Palate, sour cherry, sugarplum, black pepper, dried leaves, cocoa, dill and cedar. Enjoy.
Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A simple and typical Crianza from a reputable producer. Shows cherry, red fruit, vanilla, oak, and leather. Balanced acidity, tannins, and body. Easy-drinking and food-friendly with a classic palate. Perfect for pork and beans.
CVNE Cune Crianza 2015 is a rustic, medium-bodied red blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha Tinta and Mazuelo with ripe plum, dark cherry and cedar underbrush flavours on the palate. Enjoy with grilled ribs. - Community Wine Reviews
