Juicy black fruit and toasty oak on the nose of this robust Niagara red wine. Lots of acidity and tart blackberry on the palate for dishes with a tangy tomato sauce. Good balance. Full-bodied. This full-weighted wine is intense and balanced with aromas of blackcurrant, pepper and mocha. Try it with gourmet hamburgers.

Food pairings: hamburgers, pulled pork, grilled steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Vintage after vintage this Bench side red blend always performs admirably and this 2011 didn't disappoint me. An abundant nose of fresh picked field berries, wet stone, chocolate, earthiness and hint of vanilla. There's plenty of cleansing cool climate acidity and some warming alcohol on the palate. Long toasted oak and cherry finish. Full-bodied and smoothing tannins pair well with a fine cut rib roast or hearty beef stew. Highly recommend.
Tasted: October 2016
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

CREEKSIDE Laura's Red is a full-bodied blend of Cab Sauv, Merlot, Cab Franc, Syrah, Malbec & Petit Verdot. Dark red fruit aromas, lots of ripe red fruit and oak with slight herbal qualities on palate.
Tasted Oct. 2016
Laura`s Red is a full-bodied Niagara red wine and the flagship wine for Creekside Estate Winery. The red wine blend is 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Franc, 3% Syrah, 2% Malbec, and 1% Petit Verdot grapes. The 2012 vintage was a good one. Still young, but this Bordeaux blend red wine is showing much promise for the future. Decant and drink now or hold in cellar for three to five years. - Community Wine Reviews
