Tannic with a big grip and lots of flavour. Concha y Toro produces a wide range of styles of wines in several regions. Their Marques De Casa label is consistently great year after year. This one offers big mocha and espresso aromas from the oak aging supported by fleshy ripe blackberries and black plums. Rich and smooth. It's more subtle on the nose than opens big, wide and satisfying on the palate. Try it with duck.

Merlot food pairings: barbecued beef, cheese, poultry, borsch (beet soup), quesadillas, Tandoori-flavored dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

for this big Chilean red wine were grown in the Grapes Peumo Vineyards. The vineyards are planted on old river terraces above the north bank of the Cachapoal River in the Rapel Valley at 170 metres above sea level. The wine is aged for 14 months in French oak barrels. Lots of grippy tannin and concentration the glass. Decant for 1-2 hours and pair with a rare steak. - Community Wine Reviews
