This savoury and juicy red wine, features big black plum and berry aromas and flavours as well as dried herbs and spices. Full-bodied and smooth carmenere. Offers incredible quality and taste for the price. Try it with a hearty meat dish. Lovely dark spices and black plums on the nose of this robust red wine. Decant for 1-2 hours.

Carmenere food pairings: spicy red meats,  tomato-based dishes, rare steak,  dark chocolate.

Reviews and Ratings

Victoria Clark Clark rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Heavy body, green and red pepper aromas. Very easy drinking.
The Carmenere grapes for this wine are grown in the winery's historic Peumo vineyards situated on the old river terraces above the north bank of the Cachapoal River in the Rapel Valley 170 metres above sea level. The wine was aged in French oak barrels for 16 months which lends a vanilla spice note. This Chilean Carmenere features notes of fleshy blackberries and dark raspberries, with some mocha on the finish. The 2013 vintage was a cool one for this region which also lent racy acidity and good balance to the wine. - Community Wine Reviews
