Here's a stellar Washington State wine for your grilled meat. Rich and complex with black fruit fleshy aromas and some espresso on the nose and palate. Chalky dry with a tannic grip. Finishes with cigar box and dried herbs. Pair with prime rib or brisket. Decant 1 hour. Highly recommended.

Merlot food pairings: grilled pork chops, pepper steak, duck, grilled lamb, cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Offers a nice array of cherry, blackberry, plum and smoke on both the nose and palate. The flavor offers a shake of spice that leads into a smooth memorable finish.
Washington's iconic red wine is Merlot: it produces an entirely different style from California. This popular Bordeaux grape excels in the region of Horse Heaven Hills. most of the vines are planted on steep, south-facing slopes. Moderate winds are ideal protection from insects and mold. Good cellar candidate. - Community Wine Reviews
