Torrontes, Argentina's best-known white grape, reaches its most poignant expression in high altitude vineyards planted at 1700 to 3100 metres above sea level which creates a unique micro-climate. Love the honey blossom spicy mix with grapefruit peel here in this exotic Argentine white wine, with medium body, and a great price. The aromatic Torrontes grape finishes with peach blossom and nectarine. A perfect wine to pair with Mexican or Tex-Mex dishes with some heat or spice.

Torrontes food pairings: spicy dishes and curries, salads, seafood, shellfish, vegetarian dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Torrontes is the signature white wine grape of Argentina dating from vineyards that were planted in the early 1800s. This wine comes from the heights of Colome, one of the highest points in the already high region of Salta (7,000 feet above sea level), in the North of Argentina. On the nose, pretty floral aromas, (rose water) and peach. The palate feels fresh and crisp with a lively acidity and tropical fruit flavors lingering on the palate. Great value!!
Produced by the Hess Family, this 2015 Torrontes from Argentina's Calchaqui Valley is floral, spicy and exotic with a medium body and a great price. This wine finishes with peach blossom and nectarine. A perfect wine to pair with Asian or Thai cuisine. Argentina's best-known white grape, reaches its most poignant expression in high altitude vineyards planted at 1700 to 3100 metres above sea level with a unique micro-climate. Bring on the Thai cuisine please! - Community Wine Reviews
