Rich and robust with generous aromas of butterscotch and toasted almond on the nose and palate of this Chardonnay due to generous oak aging. Notes of green apple and pear. Nice balancing acidity. Perfect for roast chicken or turkey.

Chardonnay food pairings: spinach and pepper jack stuffed chicken, lobster in butter sauce, beef bourguignon, toasted ravioli served with Alfredo sauce, pan-fried cod with lemon butter sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This is a really satisfying Chardonnay that has a lot of complexity for the money you pay.
It is very cool-climate in its fruit; tropical, delicate, and with good acidity. It also has the virtue of showing off a decent amount of barrel maturity, so those who love their oaky/lactic bigness in Chardonnay aren't bored either.
Pretty oxidative lemon-yellow colour. The aromas have a lot of melon, custard, lemon, and vanilla.
Tasty and concentrated on the palate. It is rich, but with plenty of refresging acidity preserved. There is some age notes already expressing themselves: honey, lemon, and more custard.  Fresh papaya, mango, and dried apple. Wonderfully balanced oak and good finish.
It is exactly the kind of Chard you would expect to find from an interesting, dynamic producer in the new world. Deftly made and exotic, compared with more teaditional French Chardonnay.
Maybe drink this one in the next 3-5 years, tp preserve the fresh and mature balance it currently strikes.
Have this wine on its own or with a charcuterie and cheese board featuring some old Dutch Beemster or washed rind cheese.
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Mitsuki's Vineyard is located in the cooler part of Napa Carneros, an ideal location for Chardonnay. The bouquet and flavors are elegant and refined....lemon rind, candied lime, floral, honey and spice, buttered popcorn and toasty oak. Medium bodied and very well balanced with a bright acidity and a scrumptious lengthy finish.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Oaky full-bodied and fruity style chardonnay. Prominent notes include lemon zest, baked apple, vanilla marshmallows, allspice and buttered popcorn notes. Enjoy with creamy butternut squash ravioli. Tasted Sept 2017 by @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
From Carneros in the Napa Valley, Clos Pegase Mitsuko's Vineyard (2014) is a cool-climate Chardonnay. The wine is dry with medium weight on the palate and delicious with tropical fruit flavours and creamy vanilla. Clos Pegase winery takes its name from the mythical and immortal Pegasus, the winged horse of Greek mythology whose thundering hooves unleashed the mythical Spring of the Muses, giving rise to both wine and art. The winery has been making wine since 1984. - Community Wine Reviews
