Inspired by Chateau Haut-Brion, a medium-plus-bodied red wine blend of mostly Merlot with some Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc added to it. Black currant, rose petals, toasty oak aromas on the nose with ripe dark plum, red berry, mocha and vanilla with spicy, nutty flavours on the finish.

Food pairings: grilled lamb chops, bison burgers, tourtière.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

The Clarendelle 2015 was produced by Domaine Clarence Dillon, which is a family owned society that owns prestigious Chateaux and Domains like Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion. This 2015 was blended of 83% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Cabernet Franc, offering lovely aromas of black cherry, black plum, bay leaf, leather, vanilla and oak. Classy with a charming balance and structure, the finish exposes the quality of the fruit. Palate, the wine opens with a touch of raspberry, black cherry, tobacco leaf, spice and oak. Exquisite wine; A must try for the Bordeaux wine lover. Enjoy!
Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Bargain Bordeaux with serious pedigree. Made by the winemaking team from First Growth Bordeaux royalty: Château Haut Brion. Merlot dominated - making it more accessible for early drinking, with some Cab Sav for structure and Cab Franc for fragrance. It's truffle and tobacco scented and quite deliciously classic Bordeaux without the hefty price tag Try it with entrecôte steak with Bordelaise sauce and crispy frîtes.
Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Fresh dark fruit nose led by blackberry and blackcurrant while mild earthy, oak, cigar box, and tobacco notes round out the bouquet. Typical medium acidity, tannins, and body for a simple yet enjoyable red Bordeaux blend. 83% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 7% Cabernet Franc. Finish replays fresh fruits with hints of barrel influence. Ready to drink now with veal, duck, or wild game meats.
Clarence Dillon Clarendelle 2015 is a robust, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot red wine blend. Blackcurrant, red cherry, bay leaf, cake spice, espresso, dark chocolate and hazelnut flavours can be found on this juicy drink-now Bordeaux red. Pair with a roast beef. - Community Wine Reviews
