From Pierre Montagnac, Château Tour Castillon Cru Bourgeois 2016 is a great value Bordeaux from the Médoc wine region. Dry, medium-plus-bodied and generous on the palate with ripe blackberry, cassis, dark cherry, violets, dried fine herbs with balanced acidity and velvety tannins. Well-structured and harmonious on the palate, the wine is a plushy blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Carmenère. Pour with filet mignon. Drink or hold.

Food pairings: grilled sirloin steaks, turkey, roast pork, veal chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The 2016 Cru Bourgeois by Chateau Tour Castillon, located in the Medoc region, offers aromas of black plum, fig, leather, black pepper, coffee, smoke, spice and oak. A blend of 40% Merlot, 40% Cabernet sauvignon, 15% Cabernet franc, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Carménère gives this wine harmonious tannins and acidity, a medium body and an elegant finish - sure to please any amateur of Bordeaux wine. Palate: tart plum, blueberry, bay leaf, graphite, baking spices, dark chocolate and cedar. Enjoy!
