A fragrant, full-bodied Merlot and Cabernet Franc red wine blend with crushed violets, warm plum and dried tobacco leaf aromas on the nose. Juicy, plushy with dark plum, baking spice, savoury herb flavours and smoky oak spice flavours, smooth on the palate. Vibrant acidity for food. Pair with a roast of pork.

Food pairings: pizza, pasta, rare steaks, pork tenderloin, hard cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Serious good value for a satellite vineyard of St Emilion. A modern wine that is well made with bracingly clean fruit. Chocolate espresso beans and mocha. A touch of herbiness with black plum in the back palate with good ripe tannin and excellent length. Try with black olive and white bean cannelloni. @wrightwineblog
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Chateau Teyssier 2016, from Montagne Saint-Emilion, reveals excellent winemaking and great value wine. Made from 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, the wine delivers aromas of black plum, black cherry, black pepper, leather, baking spice, caramel and oak. Polished tannins with well-dosed acidity, this food-friendly wine will be amazing with red meat or cheese. Full-bodied, the wine exposes plenty of fruit and a tight finish. Palate: red currant, plum, bay leaf, graphite, dill, coca and cedar. Enjoy.
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A medium garnet Bordeaux from Saint Emilion blending 70% Merlot with 30% Cabernet Franc. Dark fruit and blueberry in the aromas and on the palate. Rounded acidity and firm tannins so this wine can be aged for longer. Pair with roast chicken or beef-braised ribs in a tomato sauce.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Still tasting youthful, but nicely balanced. Aromas of blackberry, blueberry, along with cedar smoke and some hints of mocha. Full bodied with youthful but soft tannins, along with bright acidity, and lots of berry flavours and a spicy, cedar finish. Enjoy with slow braised beef short ribs.
From Montagne-Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux wine region, Château Teyssier 2016 is a full-bodied, elegant 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc red wine blend with plushy, juicy plums, dried herbs, sandalwood, cinnamon, nutmeg and cedar spice flavours on the palate. Full-bodied with moderately chewy tannins, pair with filet mignon. - Community Wine Reviews
