Fleshy ripe black and purple plums on the nose of this lovely, highly aromatic Californian Cabernet. Long recognized for producing quality Cabernet Sauvignon, Chateau St. Jean’s superbly priced version is no exception. Front and centre are ripe cassis, raspberry and wood-smoke. With the fruit nicely balanced by mid-palate tannins this wine is dry, rich, ripe and forward. Enjoy it tonight. A full-bodied, well-structure cabernet with classic notes of cassis, blackcurrant and blackberry.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: beef brisket, gourmet burgers, rich meat-based pasta dish.

Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A famed producer of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chateau St. Jean's release of this vintage is no exception to the rule. Earthiness, tobacco and dark fruit on the nose with a mouthfull of dark fruit, tobacco, cassis, mocha and black tea. Complex layers mould this wine into an elegant style that is most inviting.
Chateau St. Jean (2014) is a robust Cabernet Sauvignon from California with ripe cassis, raspberry and smoky oak flavours. Good lengthy finish. - Community Wine Reviews
