A gorgeous, full-bodied, perfectly balanced bordeaux. Classic aromas of cassis and wild blackberry. Pleasantly bitter, complex and deep with a long finish. One of the better wines from the 2008 vintage I've tasted. This is the second wine of Chateau Rauzan-Ségla ... Think of it as Max Mara weekend wear versus the main Max Mara brand.

Meritage food pairings: rack of lamb with a blackberry-jelly sauce.

Big, complex and impressive. The layered aromas of red fruit, plum, leather and cigar box really are something to behold. The palate picks up right where the nose leaves off and delivers more raspberry, tobacco and cassis. Wonderful. Dry, medium-full bodied with appropriately substantial, nicely ripe tannins. This will easily reward 3-5 years of cellaring, or will be superb tonight. Source: Vintages Wine Panel
