Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Iconic for most wine geeks as the Bottle Shock wine. This 2013 Chardonnay from Napa is full-bodied with a rich, toasty nose. The palate is smooth with creamery butter, apple, pear and sweet spices. Bright acidity keeps everything in harmony. It was a shame to spit! Beautifully crafted. This is one for the collector as this wine will keep rewarding over years to come. Great gift wine with the holiday season on the horizon.
Tasted: October 2015
The 2013 Californian vintage imparted more acidity to wines like this one. Montelena has still managed to produce a pleasant, balanced Chardonnay. - Community Wine Reviews
