Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

From the Premieres Cotes de Bordeaux AOC region, Les Hauts de Palettes has been providing quality wine from the Bordeaux region for more than five generations. Hauts de Palette is a consortium of eight Chateaux located in the Bordeaux region. Les Chateau Hauts de Palettes 2014, crafted from 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc, reveals aromas of black cherry, black plum, bay leaf, menthol, leather, pipe tobacco and oak. Balanced with a pleasant finish, this medium bodied Bordeaux wine provides a taste of the Bordeaux terroir with dark plum, ripe cherry, violet, baking spice, graphite, cola and oak. Pair with red meat or risotto. Enjoy.
Produced by Jean-Christophe Yung et Fils, Château Les Hauts De Palette 2014 is a red Bordeaux blend of Merlot (60%) with the balance in Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. On the palate this elegant red is well-balance with ripe red and blueberry flavours, at touch of vanilla, anise and toasty oak. Finishes supple and long. Very nicely done. Pair with a crown roast of pork. This family-owned winery was purchased outright in 1992. The 2014 vintage was awarded 2 Stars out of 3 in the 2017 Guide Hachette. - Community Wine Reviews
