Natalie's Score: 93/100

This Bordeaux Meritage offers black pepper and smoke on the nose followed by jubilantly juicy blackberries and black cherry. This is a Left Bank Bordeaux red wine blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. The 2010 vintage was a spectacular one for this region and this wine will age for several years. Pair this full-bodied Bordeaux with a juicy steak.

Food pairings: veal tenderloin, meat topped pizza, cheese fondue, seafood risotto, roast pork tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Dark garnet with dark fruit and molasses aromatics. Palate shows concentrated ripe berries (strawberries, raspberries, cassis), prunes, cedar, slight baking spice. Smooth texture with soft tannins.
Tasted June 2017
From proprietor, Giraud-BĂ©livier, Chateau Le Caillou (2010) is a Bordeaux Meritage wine blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Lots of juicy blackberry and cherry fruit with a touch of savoury spice and smoke. The 2010 vintage was a spectacular one for this region and this wine will age for several years. Pair this full-bodied Bordeaux with a juicy steak. - Community Wine Reviews

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
