Loads to toasty oak and smoky black fruit. The 2015 tasting of the robust Chateau l'Argenteyre is seductive with aromas of spice and blackberry. Decant 1-2 hours. Pair with a rare steak.

Food pairings: veal medallions, roasted pork loin, prime rib, coq au vins.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Chateau L’Argenteyre 2015, from the Medoc AOC, shows aromas of blueberry, blackberry, bell pepper, black pepper, wet gravel, dill, backing spice and cedar. Made from 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot and 5% Carmenere, this medium-bodied wine offers a medium finish and a balanced texture. Flavors of tart plum, tart cherry, bay leaf, graphite, baking spice and cedar make this an easy drinking wine for the Bordeaux wine lover. Enjoy.
Château L'argenteyre Cru Bourgeois 2015 is a medium-bodied, structured red blend of 45% Merlot 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Petite Verdot from the Médoc in Bordeaux with fleshy dark plum, blackberry, dark cocoa and savoury spice flavours on the palate. Tannins are supple and the wine has great acidity for food. Pair with a roast duck or pheasant. Philippe and Gilles Reich have been the proprietors of the chateau and its 27 hectares of vineyards since 1992 located three kilometres from the Estuary in northern Medoc. - Community Wine Reviews
