Reviews and Ratings

L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Deep, dark ruby, dry, medium bodied, with a pronounced aroma of dark cherry, black plum, spice, blueberry, vanilla, dried fruit, blackberry and earthiness. On the palate the plummy note continues along with dark fruit and spice, earthiness and dried fruit. Wine is balanced with silky tannins and a medium finish featuring dark fruit and earthiness. This wine, with its pleasing acidity will pair well with grilled lamb chops with thyme and rosemary or beef Wellington.
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

A Bordeaux blend of 80% Merlot, 15 Cabernet Franc and 5 Cabernet Sauvignon. From Saint-Emilion , medium-bodied, with dark berry aromas. High acidity and tannins are still present although the oak's sweet influence is present with plum fruit on the palate. Decant or age further. Pair with roast poultry. Tasted January 2020.
From Montagne-Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux wine region, Château La Fleur Grands Landes 2015 is fantastic value under $20. This is a medium-bodied Bordeaux 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon red wine blend. Lovely, earthy with savoury herb, dark plum and berry fruit and soft anise spice flavours on the palate. Tannins are silky. The Durand family has owned the seven hectare estate in the Montagne district since the 18th century. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
