This wine is filled with ripe cassis, berry and earth aromas and flavours. It repeats the aromas to a T in the mouth. Dry and flavourful, with decent tannins for short-term cellaring (1-3 years), but why wait? A tarry, cedar-dark red with blackberries. Robust and ready when you are, this is a knock-it-back party wine. Great value.

Meritage food pairings: grilled peppercorn steak, veal cutlets in a mushroom and red wine sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

Holly Bruns rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A plush, juicy drink with rich aromas of earth, plum, cedar and liquorice. I found a little minerality perked it up on the finish, followed a tinge of something sweet and floral. A good deal for the price. Try it with a braised stew of red meat instead. Or a tian of Provencal vegetables, if that's more your thing.
Gold Medal winner at the Concours de Bordeaux 2011. Rich aromas of candied fruit, ripe blackberry, Christmas cake and cedar create quite a complex nose. The palate is dry, medium bodied, round and lush with substantial depth and lovely echoes of the nose. Very well-structured smooth tannins and balanced acidity. Source: Vintages Wine Panel
