Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

From the Libournais region, west of Fronsac, Chateau Fleur Haut Gaussens 2010 shows aromas of plum, blackcurrant, tobacco, dark chocolate and cedar. This right bank blend of 85% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Malbec, shows a full body with a medium finish, and provides good harmony between acidity and tannins. Chateau Fleur Haut Gaussens develops notes of dark skin plum, rose, bay leaf, coffee, leather and oak. Enjoy!
Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted May 28th 2018. Colour dark ruby red. Legs thick. Aromas and flavours upon opening BBQ campfire smoke and tar, after a day, dark fruit, blackberry, cherry, cassis.
This wine needs to breathe. Taste dry, medium plus mouthfeel, mouthwatering minus, soft dark fruit and a overpowering tannin, in a good way. I had a strip loin steak from the BBQ the wine complemented the steak the steak did not seem to do anything with the wine. 90% Merlot, 5%of each Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Per the label. Powerful tannic structure. Not sure we’re I stand on this wine. I think it is a love or hate wine depending on what you look for in a wine. It’s a try with a warning. You may not like it. And then again you may love it, my wife like it.
The 2010 vintages of this Bordeaux red wine blend comes to us from Hervé Lhuillier and Olivier Dauga, and is a blend of Cabernet and Merlot grapes. - Community Wine Review.
