Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Beautiful, fresh, and crisp. Aromas of pear, green apple, and lime with a mineral hint. Light bodied, with medium+ acidity, and lots of fresh, bright fruit, and a dry, mineral finish. Enjoy with fresh seafood dishes.

Trent Mayers rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Aligoté is lesser known white grape from Burgundy that has found a home in Niagara thanks to Chateau des Charmes. It is just a touch less than medium bodied showing wonderful acidity and light flavours of mineral, lemon, and spiced pear finishing with a little green apple peel. In France, they add a dollop of Creme de Cassis to this wine to make a favourite Burgundian aperitif, Kir. Or, it's the type of wine that makes a good pairing at your Holiday gathering when you're serving a myriad of different appetizers from shrimp to nuts to charcuterie and cheese. However, it's a perfect pairing for seafood.
