Can't believe the price on this full-bodied and juicy Côtes De Castillon, Bordeaux red. Dark ruby in the glass with ripe red berry and plum fruit, fresh and earthy on the palate wrapped up in a soft vanilla finish. Well-balanced with firm and fine tannins. Enjoy now and for the next five years. Pair with a grilled striploin steak.

Food pairings: grilled venison steak, bison burgers, roast pheasant.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Chateau de Pitray 2015 is an elegant wine from Castillon, Cotes de Bordeaux, which shares the border of the well renown wine region of Saint-Emilion. Made from 72% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec, this wine shows lovely aromas of black cherry, blueberry, bay leaf, leather, dark chocolate, vanilla and oak. Well structured, refined tannins, and full-bodied with long and pleasant finish, the wine will pair well with cheese or a meat dish. Palate: blueberry, blackberry, black pepper, cocoa, spice and oak. Enjoy!
From the Côtes De Castillon in the Bordeaux wine region, Château De Pitray 2015 is a dark and rich blend of 75% Merlot 23% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec. Produced by Alix de Pitray Comtesse de Boigne, Proprietor. The back label reads: Each bottle contains 600 years of history written by the same family. A beautiful, big red showing dark plum, cherry compote, ripe red berries and savoury herb flavours on the palate and at a great price point. Pair with a roast beef done rare. - Community Wine Reviews
