Château de Montfaucon La Côtes 2019 is an excellent value Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan and Counoise Rhône red blend at $22. Just on the other side of the Rhône river from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the 88-acre estate is owned and operated by Rodolphe de Pins, a UC Davis graduate who was also a part of the winemaking crew at Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe. The 2019 vintage is fresh, rich and fragrant with ripe dark cherry, raspberry compote, cracked pepper, dried sweet tobacco leaf and a hint of menthol on the palate and finishes long with vibrant acidity and velvety tannins. Drink to 2028.

Food pairings: sausage cassoulet, roast chicken, duck confit.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
