Lots of zesty acidity on the palate of this northern Burgundian Chardonnay made from grapes grown in Chablis vineyards not damaged by frost and hail in 2016. Aromas of green apple and Asian pear. Match with roast turkey.

Chablis food pairings: grilled fish, crab cakes, steamed shrimp and shellfish.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

More delicate on the nose with equal elegance on the palate. Classic apple, citrus and mineral from start to finish. Perfectly balanced by fresh acids.
Château De Maligny L'homme Mort 2016 is a Premier Cru Chablis from the Burgundy wine region. This vineyard was spared from the frost and hailstorm that hit the area in 2015. Look for ripe apple, stone fruit, citrus and spicy flavours on this bone-dry Chardonnay. Pair with oyster pot pie. As the story goes, the vineyard gets its name from the fact there used to be a small cemetery at the valley entrance, part of the neighbouring Roman settlement. A few sarcophagi containing skeletons from the Merovingian era were uncovered here, and this discovery gave rise to the name of L'Homme Mort (dead man). - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
