Very sexy Merlot on the nose and palate from the sensational 2012 vintage. Seductive aromas of fleshy black plums and blackberries with some clove dust mingling in between. Pleasingly grip yet it's velvet smooth. Decant 1-2 hours. Pair with veal chops. Exceptional for the price.

Food pairings: pork tenderloin en croute, stuffed roast breast of veal, hearty root vegetable stew.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Dark garnet with enticing nose of ripe plums, cherries, vanilla, leather, licorice, dried herbs and slight smoke, repeated on the extra-dry palate. Smooth, elegant, finely integrated with long herbal finish.
This 2012 Bordeaux is a blend of 80% Merlot, and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. It's aged for a year in oak barrels. This Bordeaux red wine is produced by Philippe & Valérie Bassereau. Perfect for elegant dinner parties on a budget. - Community Wine Reviews
