Château Camplong Grande Reserve 2018 is a medium-plus-bodied Syrah blend with cedar spice, ripe blackberry and fine herb aromas on the nose. Great value under $15, look for ripe blackberry, dark fruit, plum, chocolate, wild herb flavours on the palate balanced with lively acidity for food and chalky fine tannins. The Syrah grapes for this vintage were sourced from a mix of limestone, marl and sandstone soils in the Corbières. This wine region is also exposed to the cold, dry Mistral winds from the north and warm, humid southeast inflows from the Mediterranean. Enjoy with garlic and rosemary lamb chops from the grill.

Food pairings: meat-lover's pizza, slow-braised blade roast, Coq au vin.

Reviews and Ratings

Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Serious value red blend of Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Mourvedre, this wine is packed full of smoked meat aromas with cinnamon and clove spice. Hints of star anise, plus juicy black fruit and it all finishes off with rich licorice notes. Quite delicious. Try with a chorizo and chicken paella. @wrightwineblog
Great value under $15 on this Château Camplong 2018 Grande Reserve, Syrah and Grenache red wine blend from the Corbières. Lovely red berry, cherry and wild herb aromas on the nose, robust with ripe red berry and dried garrigue herb flavours on the palate. - Community Wine Reviews
