Cedary and tart with black fruit and lots of oak. Short finish but an incredible price for everyday Bordeaux. The 2010 vintage was a strong one for Bordeaux, such that even the modestly priced wines like this one showed well. This full-bodied cabernet blend produced by A. Gray et A.F. King, Prop.-vitic. is cedary and tart with black fruit and lots of oak and a huge tannic grip on the palate. The grapes for this wine are grown without the use of synthetic chemicals, pesticides or herbicides. Decant 2 hours and pair with a juicy steak.

Meritage food pairings: steak.

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Silver Medal Millesime Challenge 2013 80% Merlot 20% Cab Franc. Medium++ body with lush fruit. Rich ruby colour and a hefty 14% alcohol. Grapes are grown sans chemicals, pesticides or herbicides.
Dark cherry, plum, herbs, oak and wet cedar. Palate hands out mild tannins and some heat. Not an overly long finish. Good value for Bordeaux enthusiasts at $16.95. Drink now. Decant 1 hour or more.
Bottle label suggests drink with Mediterranean dishes, game, red meat, cheeses. I'm going with medium-rare grilled steak and potats au gratin.
Silver Medal winner at the 2013 Challenge Millésime Bio Awards. A layered and intricate nose of blueberry, black fruit, mineral, mint, cedar and violets. The complexity is well reflected in the mouth. Excellent notes of savoury black fruit. Superb balance and integration of fruit, tannin and alcohol. Tasty and impressive from beginning to end.
