Redolent of classic Bordeaux aromas: cassis, blackberry and smoke. This wine is layered, elegant and offers a long finish. This is a traditional blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. Pair with prime rib.

Food pairings: steak, venison, boar.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Classic Bordeaux blend of mostly Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with a splash of Cabernet Franc. Cassis, blackcurrant leaf, anise, leather, tobacco, sweet spices. Showing some signs of aging gracefully. Good tannic structure and balanced medium acidity. Suitable for further aging. Enjoy with finer cuts of red meat, steak, game.
Tasted: August 2015
Polished tannins on this Bordeaux red wine blend of 53% Merlot, 41% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Cabernet Franc grapes. This winery has belonged to the Ballande family for more than 150 years. The Pessac-Léognan wine region within Bordeaux is known for producing some of the best wines in France. - Community Wine Reviews
