Reviews and Ratings
Astrid Young - Sommelier ISG CAPS rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review: Irresistible nose of honeyed lemon and chamomile flowers, with classic lemon drop, clover honey and a hint of litchi fruit on the mid palate. Zesty and fresh with a slight residual tingle, solid finish echoes the mid palate and more citrus. Excellent with pakoras, fish and chips, abalone fritters ... Yeah, you heard me ...
Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review: I can't say that I've called too many Rieslings sexy, but this one from Evergreen Vineyard in Columbia Valley is definitely sophisticated and sexy. Heady floral aromas with flavours of apricot and lime, and a persistent, luscious finish make this a perfect pairing for spicier dishes.
Olivier de Maisonneuve rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review: I'm quite fond of this riesling to start with, and i must say that i was knocked out by the 2013 vintage. It's a superb wine to get acquainted with Washington State rieslings. This vintage offers a rounder mouthfeel, but you also get the typical aromas of the varietal. Even the label is fun: it's a fun conversation starter. Great to enjoy by itself, but will be even more talkative with scallops, oysters or patés. Sure to make you smile with sushis or curries with a spicy coconut milk sauce. (SAQ $17.75)
Kristin Perrin rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: Lovely Apple, pear, lime nose All echoed on the palate Light bodied, refreshing acidity with a lengthy lime-mineral finish Pork with apples
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: Offers a pretty noseful of floral and pear flavors with green apple and lime flavors bound together with a touch of honey. Kung Fu Girl Riesling is always a favorite of mine and this one does not disappoint.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: I am a big fan of Riesling, and this one has made my favourites list for the summer. Lovely aromas of lychee, pear, lemon-lime and honey. This wine is off-dry, medium to full bodied, with some nice acidity. The lychee, honey, and citrus flavours really come through. I will enjoy this while soaking up some summer sun, but it would also stand up to some spicier dishes.
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: Wow! Lovely slightly off dry Riesling which would complement spicy Asian dishes. Nose and palate display fresh orchard fruit with a slight hint of petrol. Refreshing and well balance. A terrific value priced Riesling with a very unique label. Highly recommended. Tasted April 2015. 90 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Jane LeFresne rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: I always get excited about Washington state wines and Kung Fu Girl is no exception. A very nice Riesling with aromas of green apple, lemon, petrol. Flavours of green and red apple, lemon, and honey. Nice acidity. With spring offcially here and summer just around the coner this is a great wine to sip on a patio or pair with spicy dishes. This will be in my summer rotation.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: Aromas of yellow apples, pear, white flower, honey, and a hint of petrol, characteristic of many Reislings. A nice rounded mouth-feel and medium acidity, with flavours of apple and pear and a little of the honey found in the aroma. Perfect for a pork stir-fry with a peanut sauce
Philippe Perreault - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: Clear golden color with a nose of honey, herb, mineral and verbena. The palate is nerve, complex and the finish is very long. Pair it with Asian dishes. Serve it at 8-10 degrees. ready to drink but can be aged 3-5 years.
Donna Hargrove rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review: Very light in colour, faint fruit on the nose. Delicious on the tongue with green apple, pear and honey - which adds the perfect balance between tart and sweet. Would be delicious with roasted pork or spicy dishes. I am not typically a Reisling fan, but this one has captured my interest and it will be served on my patio this summer.
