Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A tasty Cabernet from the very impressive and often under-valued, Washington State, where Chateau Smith (of Charles Smith Wines) produces their delicious wines. The nose is full of dark cherry, black currant, chocolate, fresh herbs, and graphite. Full bodied with dusty tannins on the finish, this velvety smooth wine showcases layers of dark fruit and mocha in a super approachable style that will complement a wide range of dishes from BBQ to braised, or simply enjoy on its own. The perfect Tuesday night or entertaining wine. Tasted April 2019. 89 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Lots of flavour in this full bodied and flavourful Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas of black currants, eucalyptus, smoke and leather. Full bodied, with smooth tannins and lots of dark fruit on the palate. Enjoy with prime rib or braised beef ribs.
Chateau Smith 2016 is a full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon from the Columbia Valley in Washington. Lots of ripe dark cherry and cassis aromas on the nose. Dry with layers of ripe dark fruit, mocha, tanned leather and smoky flavours on the palate. Pair with roast beef. - Community Wine Reviews
