Campfire toasty and smoky with black fruit and a whip of dark spice across the palate. Great value here in this Washington State Cabernet. Pair with a rare or pepper steak for maximum pleasure.

Cabernet Sauvignon Syrah food pairings: steak frites, grilled gourmet sausages.

Reviews and Ratings

Astrid Young - Sommelier ISG CAPS rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A bit boozy on the nose with lifted black and red fruits, grilled plums and roasted notes. Creamy cherry vanilla cola notes, medium to full bodied with nice ripe chewy tannins. Quite simply satisfying, easy to enjoy with a grilled steak, charcuterie or grilled bison sausage.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This wine is a wonderfully executed Washington state red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. At 13.9% ABV this wine shows wonderfully when tasted in early 2015.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Ripe blackberry and smoke on the nose with ripe black fruit, spice and some euclayptus on the palate.
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

"Its Just Wine, Drink It" is on the homepage of @KVintners Charles Smith Wines.
This is a wine that's meant to be drank - afternoon bbq with ribs or a burger, steak or grilled sausage for dinner or evening get togethers with friends at a bonfire. Juicy dark fruit reminds me of a blackberry bramble. Some firm tannins with a ton of flavour!
Terry Jeans - Certified S rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A medium bodied wine with lots of fruit from a rock and roll producer. It is not overly complex and easy drinking for a value price. Can't really go wrong with this one.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Deep purple colour. Ripe aromas of blackberry, with a hint of spice and pepper. Medium bodied, rich dark fruit carries through on the palate, along with young, grippy tannins. A nice steak will stand up to this young wine.
Nick Onischuk - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Charles & Charles Red Blend of cabernet sauvignon & syrah will pair nicely with a mushroom cheeseburger. Aromas and flavours of dark berry fruit, spice and vanilla. (87/100)
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Ripe blackcurrant on the nose. Palate shows more blackcurrant, mint, and baking spices with a touch of cinnamon. Short minty fruit finish.
Donna Hargrove rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Very deep red in colour, pleasant aromas of smoke and berries. The smoke continues on the tongue which overrides any fruit. Smooth short finish.
