Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A garnet red wine with a lovely nose of red cherries, earth and mocha, repeated on the palate with a slight minerality. Bright acidity on mouthfeel and a tart red cherry finish.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Nice Pinot Noir expression here. Loads of strawberry, tart cherry, vanilla, pepper and mint. A lengthy warm spice finish. Silky tannins and medium+ acidity. Definitely food friendly and well crafted. Nice as a sipper or enjoy with roasted poultry, or planked salmon.
Tasted: February 2015
The grapes are de-stemmed from whole berries so there is no harsh tannin in the finished wine, and the wine is matured in one-third new oak barrels. This vineyard of 85 acres above Boonville is new for the winery. The 2011 vintage of this red wine is well balanced and defined, and represents the first vintage to be bottled from the grapes that were planted by Champs de Reves in 2006. - Community Wine Reviews
