Natalie's Score: 88/100

The name Cellier des Dauphins is derived from its vineyards which once belonged to the son of the King of France, or the Dauphin. The vineyards are north of the Vaucluse, south of the Drome area where the soil is chalky-clay. A blend of 65% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 10% Cinsault. An incredible wine for the money! Enticing notes of cedar, hickory, cassis, blackberry and sage. Plush but great acidity and balance. Wow!

Grenache Syrah Cinsault food pairings: game, steak with grilled mushrooms, bison burgers, roast beef, strong cheeses.

Reviews and Ratings

Travis Oke rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

New bottle alert - I was a little disappointed to see the Dauphins bottles move from the cool retro-brandy shaped bottle to the sleek burgundian style - but at least now it fits into a wine rack.
Great CDR for the money - I buy two every LCBO visit. Cassis and blackberry but the fruit is nicely balanced by the acidity.
