Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

From C.C. Jentsch Cellars, an elegant and easy-to-love summer sipping 100% Syrah fragrant with pink florals, ripe fresh dark cherries, mulberries and baking spice aromas. Dry, medium-plus-bodied with medium-plus acidity, this unfiltered Syrah is zesty and mouth-coating with sweet, juicy dark cherry, leather, cinnamon, nutmeg spice and baked brioche flavours finishing long with dark cherry and white pepper spice on the palate. Tannins are velvety. Paired with wine-braised venison ribs and it was so yummy!

The Syrah grapes were hand-harvested with two-thirds sourced from the Golden Mile Bench Vineyard and the balance from Eugenio Vineyard on the Black Sage Bench, Okanagan South. The finished wine aged in oak barrels for 13 months and this vintage was awarded Best Varietal (Best Syrah) at the 2019 Okanagan Wine Festival and Bronze at the 2019 International Wine & Spirits Competition.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
